Actually, we made a fair amount of in our plan to get out of debt. Paying off bills gave us needed monthly breathing room. My daughter's wedding would not have been possible if we had not eliminated some of the debt early in the year.
A look at our bills indicates that we paid off more than $4,500 over the past 12 months. It may have fallen short of the goal but it's enough to be pretty encouraging. Plus, we had some significant wedding-related expenses. Our carefully planned budget went out the window two weeks before the event. Despite it all, we made it.
So, the bottom line is that our spending plan strategy is working. We got off track a couple of times and were hit with extra medical bills but we're plunging ahead. I like to think that Hubby and I are making wiser financial decisions. The future will tell the tale but right now it looks like we are making progress on getting out of debt. That news makes me happy any day.
